Introduction

Traffic lights always intrigued me. I always wondered how they work,

How they're timed, and so on.

I have decided to build a simulation of traffic lights. So as a first step

I have tried to explore the world of traffic lights. See what kind of theories

and principles stand behind them.

I almost found nothing about this subject in the Internet,

nothing that really explained in a professional way the traffic lights principles.

I had to come up with my own solution. I had to start watching more carefully

the behavior of traffic lights so I can simulate them correctly.

I also tried to investigate some traffic lights toys but they all were very simple,

usually only blinking and only used as a single traffic light for the whole junction

which is unrealistic.
